Xinglun Solar, whose name includes a character common in western coastal place names (such as Lunbei or Lunwei), is a photovoltaic project selling wholesale power to Taipower's grid.

Solar PV only generates during daylight hours and is sensitive to cloud cover and sun angle, peaking around midday and dropping to zero at sunset. This produces the well-known "duck curve" pattern — low net load at midday followed by a rapid evening ramp — which places extra ramping demands on other dispatchable generation.

Solar PV has been Taiwan's fastest-growing power source over the past decade, deployed through both rooftop and ground-mounted systems, including "fishery-solar symbiosis" projects that combine aquaculture with power generation on the same land. Because installations are small and highly distributed, solar contributes far more individual units to the unit table than any other fuel category.
