Wo-2 Wind Farm, like Wo-1, is part of the Greater Changhua offshore wind project cluster off the coast of Changhua County.

Wo-2 Wind Farm is part of Ørsted's Greater Changhua Offshore Wind Farm phase-2 project, which was awarded 920MW of grid capacity in the Ministry of Economic Affairs' 2018 offshore wind auction and uses 66 Siemens Gamesa 14-236 DD 14MW turbines. In 2020 it became subject to a 20-year corporate power purchase agreement with TSMC, reportedly the world's first offshore wind farm built to supply a single corporate buyer.

沃二風 (Wind) currently reports a net generation of 204.7 MW across 1 unit(s), against an installed capacity of 294.8 MW (69.4% utilization).

Wind has no fuel cost and zero direct emissions, but output fluctuates heavily with wind speed and is less predictable than thermal generation. Generation is markedly seasonal — the Taiwan Strait's strong northeast monsoon in autumn and winter typically produces much higher output than summer. Onshore turbines cluster along the western coastline, while offshore wind farms concentrate off Changhua and Miaoli.

The Taiwan Strait is internationally regarded as one of the world's best offshore wind resource areas, and government-led offshore wind zonal development since 2018 has driven wind's share of generation steadily upward. Wind and solar are the two pillars of Taiwan's renewable expansion, but their intermittency also increases the grid's need for flexible backup such as storage and gas-fired capacity.
