Fangyuan Phase 1 is Taipower's first self-developed offshore wind farm, sited about 7 to 9 kilometers off the coast of Fangyuan Township in Changhua at water depths of 17 to 28 meters, with 21 turbines fully grid-connected by August 2021. As the demonstration project in Taipower's ten-year offshore wind program, its construction and operating experience has informed later offshore developments such as the Greater Changhua wind farms.
